Tips for word art that reads well
- Fewer, bigger words make small shapes readable. 30–60 words is a good range for a heart or star.
- Use a weighted list (“word, 10” per line) when you want to control exactly which word is biggest, e.g. a person's name in the middle of a birthday heart.
- Horizontal-only text is easiest to read; mix in vertical words for a denser, more textured look.
- Collage fill packs the shape solid, like a word collage.

Questions people ask
What is the difference between word art and a word cloud?
A word cloud sizes words by how often they appear in a text. Word art is the design side: the same idea poured into a shape, a name or a silhouette. CloudShaper does both at once — sizes still come from your text or your own numbers, and the shape comes from the picker.
Can I use my own shape?
Yes. Upload any image with a clear silhouette — a logo, a pet outline, a map of your country. Dark (or opaque) areas become the shape; tick “Invert” if your image is light on dark. The image is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
How do I make word art in the shape of a name or letter?
Type up to 12 characters in the “Letters or a name” box. The words fill a giant bold version of those letters. Short names and initials work best; turn on collage fill for a solid look.
Which shapes work best?
Chunky shapes with few thin parts — hearts, circles, clouds, speech bubbles, letters in a heavy weight. Very thin parts cannot hold readable words, so they stay empty.
How do I fill the whole shape?
Switch on “Collage fill”. After placing your words by importance, CloudShaper repeats them at smaller sizes until the shape is packed. It’s the same engine as the word collage maker.
