Making your own template
Any cloud you make is a template: CloudShaper remembers your last words and settings in this browser. To reuse a design with new words, keep the shape and style and just replace the text. To share a design with a colleague, send them the word list (“Edit as word list” gives you one line per word) and the shape and palette names.
Templates are sized for their most likely use — 16:9 for slides, 1:1 for social posts, 4:5 for Instagram portrait, 4:3 for classroom projectors. Change the canvas in the Shape tab if you need something else.
Questions people ask
Are these word cloud templates free?
Yes. Open any template, change the words, shape and colours, and download PNG, SVG or JPG with no watermark or account.
How do I edit a template?
Click “Use this template”. The generator opens with the words as a list — one “word, number” per line. Change the words, and raise or lower the numbers to make words bigger or smaller.
Can I get a blank word cloud template for students to fill in?
Pick a template, clear the text box, and let each student type their own words — or print the shape with just a few starter words. For a whole-class version, use the live word cloud on the projector.
